Q:How do I cook your brown rice?
I plan to use one cup rice with two cups water
a bit of salt and olive oil in my rice cooker.
Is this ok?
A:Yes, this seems OK. For brown rice, the ratio is 1 cup dry rice to 2- 2 1/2 cups liquid. Brown rice usually requires approximately 40-45 minutes of cooking. It is best to start checking it after 30 minutes to make sure that the rice doesn't burn though. Once the rice is done cooking it should be left to sit for 5-10 minutes before removing the lid.
