Carnaroli Rice - Aged

Prized by chefs everywhere, Aquerello Carnaroli rice was once called the ""Rolls Royce of rice"" by none other than Alain Ducasse. This Aquerello rice is grown in Piedmont, Italy, produced and packed by the Rondolino family at the Colombara Estate. The Carnaroli rice is aged after harvest, then refined and enriched in a special process. The result is a Acquerello risotto rice that is bolder, more rich and more delicious than any other.

Questions and Answers

Q:Is there any stock or olive oil added
A:This is plain uncooked rice, there is nothing added to it.
Q:How to cook this rice
A:

Carnaroli Rice  can be cooked like any other rice. Its advantage is that aging renders starch, proteins and vitamins less water-soluble, improving the consistency of the grains and enabling them to absorb more cooking liquid. When cooked the grains become bigger, firmer, do not stick together and taste even better.

As a suggestion: put a good quantity of cold water into a medium-size saucepan. Bring the water to boil, then add 1/2tsp.salt and 1 cup of rice. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 12 to 13 minutes. Drain the rice. Add condiments of choice, if desired.
