Fresh Burrata Cheese

Fresh Burrata Cheese is a delicious Italian style cheese, traditionally made into small pouches, each boasting a signature brioche-like top knot. Each sack encases a thick center of creamy cheese that oozes out when you slice into it. The outside is made from mozzarella, still yielding, it’s just dense enough to hold in the silky interior, which is composed of stracciatella and cream. Most commonly made from cow's milk, you’ll sometimes find buffalo milk variants as well.

Spun by masters of the craft, burrata, is made using fresh milk. Woven and shaped by hand artisans achieve the perfect balance for these stretched-curd cheeses by texture and experience. Shaped, filled, and knotted closed, the whole process of creating this very special cheese is done by hand by true masters of the trade. Burrata, complete with its delightful clash of textures and its mild smooth taste is a truly sensational cheese.

Burrata means buttery in Italian, and just like butter, this rich, luscious cheese makes almost any meal taste better, whether it's a salad, pizza, or pasta...However, it's traditionally eaten by itself, perhaps with a drizzle of good olive oil and a small side of basil. The best way to serve fresh burrata is at room temperature. We recommend removing it from the refrigerator at least half an hour prior to enjoying it. When ready to eat, slice along the center of the sack, allowing the creaminess to ooze out. A few pieces of crusty bread will help you clean the plate.

You can buy Burrata cheese online at Gourmet Food Store, prepared and crafted by Mamma’s Cheese from Miami, Florida. They specialize in traditional-style mozzarellas, and all of their burratas are made fresh with an approximate 3 day lead time. We recommend storing your burrata in the refrigerator as soon as you receive it until ready to serve. Made to be enjoyed fresh no aging is necessary, and in fact, the sooner you slice into these tasty cheeses, the better. Boasting cleaner flavors in its youth, be sure not to store your Buratta for longer than a week or two - the sooner it's eaten, the better it will taste!

Love this buratta! Super soft mozzarella encasing creamy cheese shreds on the inside. I preffer it to the semi hard mozzarella casing ive had when trying other brands of buratta
